How long does a resin floor take to cure?

The short answerAt 20°C, ASP's solvent-free epoxy floors take light foot traffic after 16 hours, light traffic after 24 hours and heavy duty traffic after 48 hours, with full chemical cure at 7 days. ASP's polyurethane floors take light traffic after 24 hours and heavy duty traffic after 48 hours, with full chemical cure at 7 days.
How soon you can use a new floor depends on the resin, the system and the temperature. All the times below are measured at 20°C. Cooler conditions slow curing; check with ASP's technical team before installing in cold or hot weather.
Cure times by product

Working time
Working time is how long the mixed material stays usable. At 20°C it is 15–20 minutes for the solvent-free epoxies, 10–15 minutes for the polyurethane cement floors and around 35 minutes for the water-based ASP-coatWBE. Mix only what can be applied in that window.
Between coats
For ASP-coat500, a second coat can go on after 10 hours but no later than 24 hours after the first. ASP-coatWBE's second coat must go on within 24 hours of the first.
What full chemical cure means
A floor can carry traffic well before it reaches full chemical resistance. Keep chemical spillages and aggressive cleaning off the floor until the 7-day full chemical cure is reached.
Need the area back faster?
